About Me

Hello, I’m Dull Hilarity and I’m a voracious reader from the UK. I will read pretty much anything that is placed in front of me, but I particularly enjoy:

• Mystery/thrillers
• LGBTQIA+
• Science fiction
• “Weird books”
• Urban fantasy

From any age range, be that adult, young adult, or middle grade, although I read the most YA out of any genre.

Oh, and fun fact, I’m very chaotic, as you’ll know if you watch my YouTube videos.

HOW DO I REVIEW BOOKS?

I USE THE CAWPILE RATING SYSTEM!

This involves rating books on seven areas:

CHARACTERS

ATMOSPHERE

WRITING

PLOT

INTRIGUE

LOGIC/RELATIONSHIPS

ENJOYMENT

Up to a rating of 10/10 and then dividing the score by 7 to give an average score.

So let’s say you rate everything an 8/10, that would give you 56. Then you would divide it by 7, getting 8. This would be equivalent to a 4/5 star rating. This system was first devised by G at Book Roast.
